CSense

Privacy Policy

Effective date: September 10, 2026

This Privacy Policy explains how CSense ("CSense", "we", "us", or "our") collects, uses, stores, and discloses information when you use the CSense mobile application, website, customer portal, connected sensor services, and related services (collectively, the "Services").

CSense is the service operator name used in this policy. If our legal business name changes or is finalized, this policy may be updated to identify the applicable legal entity.

Information We Collect

Depending on the Services you use, we may collect information you provide to us, such as your name, email address, account credentials and other account or support information. We may also process information associated with a CSense installation, including property or location labels that you or an administrator provide, connected device and sensor identifiers, sensor states, events, activity history, alert configuration, and notification preferences.

We may collect limited technical information needed to operate and secure the Services, such as device or application information, authentication records, service requests, error information, and security or audit logs.

Property and Sensor Data

CSense receives and processes data from sensors and connected systems associated with your account. This can include sensor status, device state, event timestamps, connectivity status, battery information, alerts, and related operational information. We use this information to provide monitoring, status displays, event history, alerts, troubleshooting, and other features requested by the customer.

How We Use Information

We use information to provide and maintain the Services; authenticate users and protect accounts; display sensor and system status; deliver alerts and notifications; troubleshoot problems; provide customer support; maintain service reliability and security; investigate misuse or security incidents; and comply with applicable legal obligations.

We do not sell personal information. We do not use CSense customer sensor or account information for third-party advertising.

Notifications

If you enable notifications, CSense may process notification-related information and use platform notification services to deliver alerts or service messages to your device. You can manage notification permissions through your device settings and, where available, your CSense notification preferences.

Third-Party and Connected Services

CSense may integrate with third-party services or connected-device platforms, including YoLink, when those services are configured for a customer. Information required to operate an integration may be exchanged with the applicable provider. Those providers process information according to their own terms and privacy practices.

The mobile application also relies on services provided by the device platform operator, including Apple services used to distribute the application and, where enabled, deliver push notifications. We may use hosting, infrastructure, communications, or other service providers that process information on our behalf to operate the Services. We require service providers handling CSense information to use it only for authorized service purposes and to protect it appropriately.

Data Sharing and Disclosure

We may disclose information to service providers acting on our behalf; to connected-service providers when necessary to provide an integration requested or configured for your account; when required by law or valid legal process; when necessary to protect the security, rights, or safety of CSense, our customers, or others; or as part of a business reorganization or transfer, subject to applicable privacy requirements.

Data Storage and Security

We use administrative, technical, and organizational safeguards intended to protect information against unauthorized access, alteration, disclosure, loss, or misuse. No network, system, or storage method can be guaranteed to be completely secure, and users should protect their account credentials and notify us of suspected unauthorized access.

Data Retention and Deletion

We retain information for as long as reasonably necessary to provide the Services, maintain security and business records, meet contractual requirements, resolve disputes, and comply with applicable law. Retention periods may vary depending on the type of information and the customer's service configuration.

You may request deletion of your CSense account or personal information by contacting support@csense.ca. We will process verified requests in accordance with applicable law and may retain information where retention is required or permitted for legal, security, fraud-prevention, dispute-resolution, or legitimate record-keeping purposes.

Your Privacy Choices

You may contact us to request access to, correction of, or deletion of personal information associated with you, or to ask questions about how your information is handled. You may also withdraw consent where applicable, subject to legal or contractual restrictions and reasonable notice. Some information is necessary to provide the Services, so deleting information or withdrawing certain permissions may limit or prevent use of some features.

Children's Privacy

The Services are not directed to children and are not intended for use by children to create their own CSense accounts. If we learn that personal information from a child has been collected contrary to applicable requirements, we will take appropriate steps to address it.

Changes to This Policy

We may update this Privacy Policy as CSense services, technology, business practices, or legal requirements change. The current version will be posted on this page with its effective date. Material changes may also be communicated through the Services or other appropriate means.
